There is no hidden reason on how this place got the name as "Mukku Road". It is self explanatory if you know Tamil language. Three roads are meeting on a certain point, This point is termed as Mukku, as this is related to the Road, it got the name as Mukku Road.

In Kilakarai, many of the buses which has the route (Tirunelveli - Rameswaram) are not entering into the Kilakarai bustand. people from kilakarai has to move to Mukku Road to catch those buses.

In mukku road we can get good snacks, cool drinks, Food items in the evening and some fruits which are commonly found in these areas.

In Mukku road vallal Seethakathi's Welcome Arch is there. The light facility is good in this road, even in midnight we can see atleast one family waiting for the bus for long distance journey.

College going students are coming to Mukku Road and takes their buses to their destination where their colleges are found.

Auto stand is also there in Mukku Road to help people reaching their home in inner - Kilakarai. You can find some family members waiting in this road to welcome their guests, coming from different regions.

New Bridge in Kilakarai

Coastal guards has constructed a new bridge to tie the big fishing/coastal guards boat. Now-a-days kilakarai people are gathering here in the evening and sit on the bridge and boasting for hours. Vendors are also earning good sum of money here by selling tea, coffee, snacks etc.,

Police has advised not to park the bike over the bridge but the Kilakarai guys will never look on this notice.

People can have a good light house view from the bridge as the light house spot is just 40 metres away from this bridge.

In the evening if anyone comes here, they can go home with the heart filled with peace and joy. Lads are enjoying their time by catching fishes and diving from the bridge into the sea.

A bus stand is a place where the bus would come and wait for some time to move to the desired destination.

Kilakarai has a bustand where kilakarai people can get the transportation between different places. From kilakarai bus stand people are moving to different location like ramanathapuram, Eruvadi, Thirupullani etc.

From kilakarai, buses are frequently available for Ramanathapuram and Eruvadi.

Light house in Kilakarai

Kilakarai light house paves an important one for the fisher-mans in kilakarai to reach the right destination after their fishing is completed. This is one of the old light house and helping the fisherman's for decades. In every evening people in kilakarai will come near this light house and spend their time in the newly constructed bridge on the sea shore.

Lighthouse Kilakarai

 This light house is constructed near the sea shore and it's surrounded by walls and it has a gate entry where people can enter through it but it's been restricted by the Coastal Guards.
