Temple like features are available in this mosque but for a surprise there is no shapes like hindu goddess is carved in any of the beam or on the wall of this mosque.

Ramadan Fasting

Kilakarai Muslims Fasting

Kilakarai, Muslims, Children of Allah keeps Ramadan fasting for the whole month of Ramadan. Ramadan month is the 9th month in the Islamic lunar Calender and it is considered as the month of divine for muslims. Muslim people start fasting from dawn and ends up their fasting every day in the dusk (sunset). This month helps the muslims to get more focus and closer to Allah. In this Ramadan fasting, muslims will neither eat nor drink enything till sunset, they ends up the fasting with their special Nombu Kanji (semi solid drinking item in South India) or with water. They used to have food early in the morning, go to prayer and start fasting in the dawn.

Fasting is strongly recommended for muslims and it cannot be breakthrough until or unless any sufferings comes into existence. Things to be considered during fasting are as follows;

1) Do not eat or drink anything, Excuse is there if anything is accidently taken
2) Should not harm anyone with words or with physic
3) Five senses has to be controlled, not only in the month of Ramadan but also for all the time in one's life
4) Worship Allah with love and grace.

Nabihal said, If one keep fasting with grace and to seek the will from allah, the sins he committed till now will be forgiven. This is the main aspect in Ramadan fasting.

Ramadan ends with a big celebration known as Eidul-Fitr. Eidul-Fitr starts up with a special morning prayer in all Mosques and also in the open grounds of towns and cities around the world. Men and women wear new clothes and celebrate the festival by giving gift to the relatives and friends by meeting them.
Kilakarai muslims are very good in Ramadan fasting, In their fasting nombu kanji will be given for non-muslim school children also, this will make them more happier and helped them to enjoy the Ramadan season with great joy.
