Parota is a food item which is like chappathi or dosa but hard enough to make it to pieces. Parota is a famous dish in down south of Tamil Nadu (India). Kilakarai has abundant Parota Stalls which is good in taste. Parota is made up of Maida flour.
In Kilakarai main road we could find parota shop for every 100 Meters. Kilakarai people fond of eating parota dish from Morning to evening. Two parotas are enough to keep away the appetite for 3 hours. Parotas are served with Kuruma ( A kind of Proidge) , Drunker guys used to have Parota after consuming alcohol liquors. Kurumas are of very spicy in taste that suits the tongue of the boozy people.
In the nearer cities Parotas are getting ready in the eveing time as people preferred it in the evening time only where as in kilakarai Parotas are available from the Morning itself and we could find people eating parotas in the morning for their break-fast.
Best dishes to be taken along with parota is Half-boiled egg, cooked intestine of Goats and Cows and also the Mutton chukka. In kilakarai Boy(Muslim) Parota is very famous and it is available in a Parota stall under Tourist home.
